March 21, 2009
We held our ’09 Spring Puppy Hunt Saturday, March 21, 2009
at Evergreen Fox Pen in Evergreen, SC. We would like the thank Dwight Allen for
allowing us to use his pen and for providing a good group of judges for our
puppy hunt. This pen is set up exceptionally well for a hunt with a clubhouse
in the middle of the pen so you can view crossings constantly. We had a big
case of quality young dogs and the running was non-stop until well after the
hunt was called off. It looks like everyone has been doing a good job of
breeding and raising these young dogs. I would expect many of these dogs to
start showing up at our all-age hunts very soon. We would like to congratulate
Deepwoods Kennels for winning this hunt with Deepwoods Click-Clack.
Our next hunt will be in Snipesville, GA on April 18, 2009

Sugar Hill Fox Pen
January 17, 2009
We kicked off our 2009 season at Sugar Hill Fox Pen in
Florence, SC with a bang. This hunt was sponsored and put on by the K-9 unit of
the Florence Sheriff’s Department. The SEBFHA and the Sheriff’s Department
greatly appreciate Mr. Rd for letting us use his facility to have our field
trial and a fundraiser for the K-9 unit.
Even
though the temperature was in the single digits the running was hot and heavy
for four + hours, with plenty of crossings for the crowd to watch.
The
K-9 Unit went overboard to make sure everyone enjoyed this event. They had a
shooting gallery and a house of bounce for the kids. They also provided
breakfast and lunch for everyone. (They fed over 200 people at lunchtime.)
After lunch they had a raffle that probably lasted an hour. They gave
everything from a boat and gun to dog feed and dog supplies.
Congratulations
to Fred Holland for winning the Female Class with Holland’s DeJaVu and
for winning the Classiest Hound with Holland’s Jesabelle.Congratulations to Deepwoods Kennel for
winning the Male Class with GFC Outwest Smokey G. Also, congratulations
to A & A Kennels for receiving the Best Mouth Award with A &
